Travel and Logistics Operations
Operations Under Pressure
Airport Operations Under a Hard Clock
American Councils for International Education · O’Hare · 2013 to 2026, seasonal
Context
For thirteen seasons I handled airport travel and logistics for U.S. State Department funded exchange programs at O’Hare: peak waves of arriving and departing students, every connection time-critical.
Decision
Route everything through one point. I led a four-person crew and served as the single line between the program office and everyone on the ground: airlines, on-site staff, participant families.
Execution
Cancellations, rebookings, missed connections, and medical and immigration emergencies, resolved in real time. Between waves, itinerary optimizations that eliminated avoidable change and rebooking fees.
Single point (me)↔
Airlines · crew · families
Result
A high on-time connection record across federally funded programs, season after season, working inside someone else’s chain of command.
